Jackson Art Center
The Jackson School operated as a DC public elementary school from 1890 to 1971. In the early 1980's, a group of local artists partnered with the Corcoran School of Art to leased the building from DC Public Schools for an art center and private studio space. In 1990, the Corcoran moved on, and the artists stayed.
The Victorian school building with tall, wide windows transforms itself into ideal studio space.
